Due to their longevity, easy maintenance and high efficiency, AC motors from LDW are particularly economical. You can choose from various designs for indoor and outdoor sites with all prevalent protection systems.

The machines are constructed in a modular format and allow the addition of further equipment such as an air-to-air cooler or air-to-water cooler. They are therefore easily optimised for a wide variety of applications. We also provide models for operation in unfavourable environment and hazardous areas.

You can request solutions for motors with fixed speed at the power line (up to 15 kV, startup with reactor or startup transformer), but also motors for variable speed operation (50 MW at 1500 RPM). They can be combined with all prevalent converter types and brands, including 6-phase models. Our design of stator windings and isolation systems always takes particularly in consideration the requirements of the converter.

Our synchronous motors are generally built with brushless excitation but motors with brushes can also be provided upon request.

Whenever replacements for older machines are needed, we adjust the dimensions of our motors as far as possible to the existing foundation so that costs are kept to a minimum. We also provide replacements for machines of other manufacturers.

If necessary, the bearings are designed by our experts, e.g. for added axial or radial forces or for inclinations (as required by classification societies in shipbuilding, for example)
