Bremen (Germany), May 2008 - Lloyd Dynamowerke GmbH & Co. KG (LDW), a manufacturer of custom machines in the areas of drive technology and power generation, have increased their turnover and profit substantially in 2007. Following two years of stable turnovers at EUR 35 million in 2005 and 2006, this figure rose to EUR 49 million in the past year. The result of operations improved by several million euros and returned to the profit zone. LDW's business situation has stabilised and the foundation for additional growth has been built.
One important reason for the company's positive development is the growing number of orders from the shipbuilding industry, especially for the operation of drilling ships. An increase in productivity and closer ties to regional suppliers have also reinforced the upward trend. LDW's number of employees has remained stable at 233, but up to 30 temporary workers were hired additionally. The company continues to train apprentices in commercial and technical vocations, and there is continuous demand for qualified personnel.
LDW management expects a lasting positive trend and further significant growth of turnovers in the upcoming years. Currently the order books are already being filled for 2009 and later.
