In 1889, more than 120 years ago, the invention of the three-phase induction motor by Michael von Dolivo Dobrowolsky, then the chief mechanical engineer of AEG, proved to be the foundation stone of their manufacture by AEG.
LDW became part of the AEG Aktiengesellschaft as the AEG acquired the majority of shares of Lloyd Dynamowerke in 1934. In 1960 AEG acquired 100% of LDW´s shares.
As the AEG had to close the machine factory in Berlin in 1983, LDW took over a majority of these products and extended its own production range. Even today Lloyd Dynamowerke can quote and manufacture spare parts and complete spare machines for machines originally manufactured by the factory in Berlin.
In 1996 Lloyd Dynamowerke was unhinged from the AEG group. Since 2008 LDW is a member of the Kirloskar Electric Group.
Because of a licensing agreement our machines today can still be labeled with the established trademark AEG upon request of the customer.
As a result of the long-time membership in the AEG group LDW has extensive archives of catalogues and production documents for AEG products and we are glad to help you with inquires for these items.
